For which university are you planning to go fir MA in English. However, you can start your preparation by reading History of English language from any good author. Start reading from the very beginning and make notes of your own. It will surely help you. There is not particular syllabus. However you

Dear Gopi, when it comes to English Literature, just try to get a good hold over the various authors of different era. That will be more than sufficient.
