The discipline of engineering is extremely broad and encompasses a range of more specialized fields of engineering, each with a more specific emphasis on particular areas of applied science, technology and types of application. The main branches of engineering are: 1) Chemical engineering 2) Civil engineering 3) Electrical engineering 4) Mechanical engineering 5) Software engineering 6) Systems engineering The other branches like aeronautical, automotive, ECE, CSE, etc. would come under the above as the sub branches of engineering.
