Joint Entrance Examination JEE or Joint Entrance Examination is conducted in the month of April with the guidelines of MHRD for admission to government aided engineering colleges. It is divided into two stages: JEE Mains JEE Advanced Around 13 Lakh students appear for this exam on a single day, conducted by one of the IITs. It is required to get into prestigious engineering colleges of India like NITs, IITs, etc. For shortlisting of final candidates, a weightage of 40% is also accorded to marks scored in 10+2 level examination. There are various other universities which conduct their separate examination for entry into Engineering courses for Computer Science, like Manipal Institute of Technology and Vellore Institute of Technology. Certain other universities rely upon State Level Entrance Test conducted by state boards for entry into engineering courses like computer sciences.
