Mechanical, electrical and computer science are evergreen branches. Electronics and communication is a bit hybrid as most IT companies favors ECE students after CS/IT students. Civil is good for those interested in designing and planning of structures.

According to me, mechanical is not an evergreen branch. Due to the oil price/gulf recession problem, so many mechanical engineers have lost their job.
