B.Com is far better. Indian universities are not equipped enough to teach BBA/MBA with a true curriculum. Most of the universities continue to do theoretical spoon feeding, even in MBA syllabus. There are different pedagogical tools for teaching this subject, and the first requirement for any college is good faculty who can understand all fields of management.
A good faculty should consist of enough professors with an exposure to a corporate job and academics of the subject he teaches.

I would like to add here, as far as the trend and prestige is concerned, one can go for IIMs entrances and colleges and universities with professional exposure, and not just to be focused with place constraints. Though, the degree will be valid from institutions of national importance.
Also, if aspirant is interested to go abroad, they can focus on language examination first, (TOEFL, etc.) and apply for graduates fellowship to pursue degree.
