Hello Poonam, Nowadays computer science engineering is a great setback for the other branches of engineering or you can say like this, that this decade was completely dedicated to the computer science engineering. So B.Tech honours in computer science engineering is really a worth to pursue. So go ahead with your choice, don't worry. Now coming to the LPU, if you are qualifying an eligibility criteria which is like this, candidate must have 60% marks in 12th class. (59.9% will not be rounded off as considered to be a 60%). One must have to qualify the entrance exam LPU NEST also. SO, Poonam, if you are satisfying and eligibility criteria you can take admission and I saw you if you had a good percentage in 10th class are you are having good percentage in 12th class you will get an ample scholarship and the scholarship will continue till your last semester. That means once the scholarship will be conferred to you in first semester it will remain with you till last semester until unless you will not involved in any of the criminal act. LPU is putting more efforts to make Industry ready product. First of all the difference is in the specializations. LPU offers large number of industry specific specializations, highly coveted Computer Science Engineering along with the function specific ones, while you can easily count the total number of classes in NIT's. Hi Hons. Programmes are more rigrous natured programmes at LPU. Hons. programmes are more specialized as compared to General degree programmes. Different universities have different models of giving Hons. Programmes. We at LPU offer one extra course per term in Hons programmes as compared to regular ones. Highlights of the additional Courses 1.In LPU a mix of innovative and creative courses would be offered to increase the knowledge and hone the technical skills of the hons. students.Practical/ workshops, technical and entrepreneurial projects as well as courses with exposure to cutting edge technologies would be offered in a special way to honors students. Please understand the following differences between B.Tech (Hons.) and simple B.Tech. 1) A mix of innovative and creative courses would be offered to increase the knowledge and hone the technical skills of the hons. students. 2) Eligibility Criteria is stringent. Special Quota would be allotted or preference would be given to Hons. students in the following: 1. In selection of Residential facility from the second year onwards. 2. In selection of Open Elective / Social Science Elective 3. In Students exchange / Foreign Scholarships / visits with the foreign universities whenever offered. 4. More opportunities for technical training (on self-financing basis – over and above the fee) will be provided for hons. students such as special counseling and assistance for international exposure assignments/projects, industrial exposure and in-house research projects. 5. Although major electives and department elective / specialization baskets will be same for both regular and Honors. Where ever there are limited seats in these electives, the hons. students will be allotted a special quota or preference may be given in choosing their electives. 6. Library: a. LPU has been ranked 78th amongst all government and private universities by NIRF ranking released by MHRD, Government of India. Provide scholarship Benefit up to Rs. 4.9 Lac per student based on different categories that make Quality Education more available to middle-class students. As far as I know recently my friend passed out from LPU and she explained how well LPU infrastructure, academic excellence, holistic development, practical exposure, study abroad option, and many more facilities help her to outgrow in the crowd of LPU to reach her desired goal. I think LPU will be best to join for the candidates who believe in diversity, cultural ethics, hand on exposure,field-specific, willing to learn about the latest market demands to meet, and most importantly who want in campus placements highest packages. In my opinion both of the courses are good you can go for any one .But in case of B.tech cse hons you have to put extra afforts for your studies as one subject extra student need to learn about, in this programme in every semester.On other hand in general B.tech CSE programme core subjects as basics you will study.Additional innovative honors electives and projects in the contemporary areas like Networking, Cloud Computing etc. provide an edge over a regular B.Tech.
