Can you share some more information about LPU? Is it worth to pursue B.Tech honors? Is CSE branch good or not?

Hi Somesh, Hons. Programs are a bit more rigorous at LPU. These are more specialised as compared to General degree programs. Highlights of the additional Courses 1. In LPU a mix of innovative and creative courses would be offered to increase the knowledge and hone the technical skills of the hons. Students. Practical/ workshops, technical and entrepreneurial projects as well as courses with exposure to cutting edge technologies would be offered in a special way to honors students. Where ever there are limited seats in these electives, the hons. Students will be allotted a special quota or preference may be given in choosing their electives. 2. Added to this, well-equipped nine story library and also a library each in various blocks. 3. Exposure of the students to the world market and a wide platform for the student to deal with the world level activities is a must. In my opinion LPU B.Tech CSE is the best branch going right now for many reasons. 4. LPU offers a complete package of quality teaching, intuitive learning aided with hands on practical training. It also offers good scholarship slabs based on various categories. It has also started the covid scholarship to aid education at such grim times. 5. The updated labs and the expertise of the faculty have given good results that today LPU is a name to reckon. 6. If the talk is about placements, again. LPU has been awarded the National Employ-ability 2020 award for best placements as the top MNCs have recruited the students of LPU for many enviable positions. B.Tech CSE student has bagged a 42 LPA from Microsoft. 7. The number of companies visiting LPU are 700+ which select students for strategic positions, 8. The joint campus placements are with about 900 companies and ample opportunities for full time internships and on-the-Job training in reputed companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Capgemini would definitely leave LPU as a good choice. 9. NIRF ranking LPU received recently is also quite good: Overall 99 University 78 Engineering 87 Pharmacy 29 Management 49 All such reasons would entice me for LPU. I have been in LPU so I can vouch on their practices that they are implementing and I have witnessed their effort for students and management working hard for placement and imparting quality teaching. I will give u suggestion to pursue Btec instead of BTec honors. Because after four years you should go for GATE or for placement. The placement of LPU in CSE is very good.600+ companies visit the campus every year and almost 90% of the students got placed. Last year a girl placed in microsoft with a package of 42 Lacs per annum. The placement staff of LPU works very hard for bringing the company in the camp. LPU also have tie ups with foreign university that will help student to place in foreign universities.

In my opinion, LPU is always worth it because of its placement, exposure, opportunities, infrastructure. There are thousands of opportunities and things to learn. Students get summer internships. Industry certifications, MOOCs, Hackathons, Workshops, Guest lectures, Educational Trips, Live projects, Incubation projects, Community projects, are an integral part of the curriculum. Besides that LPU faculty members are highly qualified many from IITs, IIITs, NITs, etc. And most of them are Ph.D. plus LPU offers different specializations namely IOT, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Full Stack Web Development, Big Data, and many more. And More than 600+ companies visit LPU every year for recruitment with an average of 4-10 LPA package. Every year visiting companies increases in the number and till date, University has recorded the highest placements in North India. Furthermore, Cognizant and, Capgemini recognised LPU for generating the highest No. Of Placement Offers in North India for the session 2020-21 with Cognizant. Robert Bosch Engineering Group (RBEI) Bosch recognised. The highest Package is availed by itself CSE student Miss Tanya Arora, she bagged 42 LPA ( batch 2020) by Microsoft.
