If you go beyond Delhi University, you'd find a lot of other colleges which have a great economics honours programme which might stump some DU colleges. Far east, there are Presidency University, St xavier's college and Jadavpur University which have excellent economics departments. It has produced countless academic luminaries in fields ranging from economics and statistics to physics and chemistry including nobel laureate Amartya Sen, renowned physicist Ashoke Sen and our very first President Rajendra Prasad.
