Can you suggest some books for the preparation of IBPS PO and English grammar?

Hello, There are basically 4 sections in Bank exam - Verbal Ability, DILR, Quants and GK. Verbal Ability: Start reading newspaper daily to increase your reading speed and grasping power. It will also help you to get in touch with basic vocab. Don't miss out the editorial page. Do a proper analysis of articles on the editorial page. Try to make a summary of articles that you read para by para. You can switch to the book called WORD POWER MADE EASY by NORMAN LEWIS. DILR The best thing to score in LR-DI is to practice more questions on a daily basis so you understand which sets you should leave and before attempting the sets what are the things you should look for. I would suggest 'Puzzles by George J Summers'. Quants This section is one of the most scoring section for student and you too should try to get maximum marks in this section. It has a proper syllabus and you need to practice each and every chapter. The major topics are- Geometry, Arithmetic, Algebra, Number System and Modern Math. It is basically the math that you have studied till the tenth standard. However, having said that, the questions are not really easy. Focus more on Arithmetic and Algebra as these two are the most important topics. GK Read newspaper daily for current affairs and go for Lucent for GK.

1. To share a few tips- If you are determined for a job in bank, preparations for exams must be started well in advance. Most bank exams have common sections like Aptitude and Logical. So, it is better that you start from them. Practice using model or previous question papers. It could help in giving an outline of the exam structure. Try to work out the questions at least thrice, which will boost your confidence level to answer. Having decided to appear for exams of a specific bank, research about the bank, management, core business areas, branches, mission, achievements and recognitions is necessary. Be attentive about up-to-date happenings by reading newspapers. Stay alert on issues pertaining to banks and its business. Watching business news channels will provide a more inside view on various topics. 2. Books that you may refer: I. A Modern Approach To Non Verbal Reasoning by R. S. Aggarwal. II. Numerical Ability & Quantitative by P. K. Mittal. III. Objective General English by R. S. Aggarwal, Vikas Aggarwal. IV. General Awareness & Current Affairs Digest by M Laxmikanth. V. Previous Papers BANK P. O. Recruitment Exam by G.K Publishers.
