All NCERT 6-12 (political science, geography, history and macro economics)
Indian Polity -M.laxmikant(must read book page 2 page)
    Spectrum by Rajiv Ahir.
Fundamental and human geography by CG Leong
Majid Hussain - the Geography of India.
    Medieval India-Satish Chandra
    Ancient India-RS Sharma
    Oxford Atlas.
    Art and culture- Nitin Singania.
    Yojna magazine
    The Hindu (Daily)
    Indian economy -Ramesh Singh.
These above books are sufficient for preliminary. NCERT is the base of preparation.
