As you know, Psychology is the study of the human mind and of human behaviour. Let me quote some of the Career prospect & other programme outcomes which I managed to fetch from my alumni page of LPU. Career prospects in those trained in psychology are huge, both in India and abroad. In India, the discipline is getting very popular nowadays because of its requirement in every class of people. Job openings are as good as in other disciplines. Some typical jobs in this field of work are:
Career counsellor, Psychiatric Technician, Rehabilitation Specialist, Case Manager, Advertising Agents, Child Care Worker, Laboratory Assistant, Mark

The Psychologist is an expert or specialist in psychology. Psychiatrist or other medical doctor uses medication for treatment while Psychologists can only use talk therapy as a treatment. Sometimes peoples think that Psychologists and psychiatrist are the same professions, but they both are completely different. In India, the first department of psychology was established at Calcutta University in early 1915. TYPES OF PSYCHOLOGIST
Clinical & Counseling Psychologists: These works with patients and provide mental health care. Organizational & Community Psychologists: Who apply their psychological theories, research and techniques

There are numerous colleges across the country that offers MA in psychology but I must recommend LPU on the basis of my experience as it offers Masters in Psychology. This degree can take the form of either a Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (M.Sc). An M.Sc degree is likely to be more focused on research and the sciences, while an MA may be more focused on the arts and humanities aspects of psychology. I know one such University in Northern India I. e. Lovely Professional University that offers a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology. AT UG level, you could have gone for BA Honors with Psychology as the main subject. In

If your question was about studying Psychological Counseling without any prior experience, then yes, you can. There are some really good colleges which offer Counseling Psychology at both Bachelors and Masters Level. You can be an undergraduate from any stream and switch to a Masters in Counseling Psychology. -Hyderabad Academy of Psychology (HAP) & Banjara Academy offer certificate courses that enable you to get into professional Counseling. -Montfort College, Bangalore (Affiliated to Martin Luther Christian University) offers a full time Masters in Counseling Psychology and you do not need to have any previous psychology experience.
