XAT, CMAT, ATMA, GMAT India and NMAT by GMAC are the entrance exams for MBA other than CAT.

XAT would be at par and is accepted by many colleges. Some other college specific but very good entrances are SNAP for Symbiosis, NMAT for Narsee Monjee and TISSNET for TISS HR.

    You can try for:
    1. XAT: For XLRI.
    2. XIMB.
    3. NMAT: For Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.

There are no equivalent exams in India, which can compete with CAT. But, if you are fine with international MBA, then GMAT will be a very good option. Most of the colleges in GMAT are very good and share the same level with CAT or above CAT.
