The weightage in selection process is CAT-50%,GD-15%,PI-15% and academic records- 20%. Though work experience does not carry any separate weightage but having work experience can definitely help you at the time of PI as your experience gives you an edge over others. So, yes, it can help.

There is no weightage given for work experience in admission process but your experience will certainly help you to perform well in GD-PI.

You need to be aware of general topics as well as the current hot topics. GD/PI generally happens in February - March. There is not much weightage for work experience.
