Can you tell me residential facilities and safety measures adopted by LPU during COVID-19 pandemic situation? I want to opt for residential.

Hi, You can opt for residential facilities without any hesitation. LPU has taken several measures for the safety of the students and staff. They are- 1) University premises is sanitized daily even if the students are there or not. 2) Masks are mandatory to wear on the campus. 3) Thermal Scanning is done regularly. 4) On-campus, social distancing principles are enforced, it was very easy to introduce social distancing because the campus is massive and there is space to do so. 5) Regular advisories are floated on the University app, which is mandatory for all the staff and students to have. 6) The food quality is being monitored regularly and the food is served in the hostel rooms. Hi LPU nurtures the well being of its students in all spheres. LPU ensures that face masks or paper tissues are available for those who develop a runny nose or cough at work, along with closed bins for hygienically disposing masks an tissues. So LPU will encourage regular hand-washing LPU encourages participants to cover their face with the bend of their elbow or a tissue if they cough or sneeze and supply tissues and closed bins for disposal. LPU would display dispensers of alcohol-based hand rub prominently around the venue. For admission If there is space, LPU would arrange seats so that participants are at least 1 meter apart. Open windows and doors whenever possible to make sure the venue is well ventilated. If anyone who starts to feel unwell, the campus hospital will be contacted immediately. Hence the availability of masks, tissues, sanitizers would be the priority of LPU keeping in mind the social distancing measures. The mess food will be available at alternative positions and proper distancing will be maintained. If you want room service for food, that too will be provided. Simple precautions and planning can make a big difference. Stay safe and healthy. Stand strong is the motto of LPU right now.

LPU has laid down strict guidelines to keep the campus and its students safe from any health related issue. Some measures are: 1. Wearing of mask by all 2. Daily sanitation 3. Strict rules of movement 4. All the hostel rooms and buildings are sanitized and unnecessary movement of anyone is prohibited 5. No big gatherings 6. Thermal scanners 7. Distancing to be followed in sitting in class as well I. e leaving one seat and then next student will sit 8. Extending the timings of 9-5 so that there is no loss of class 9. Classes to be scheduled on weekends as well to avoid the loss 10. MOOC courses to be allotted to the student 11. Strength of class to be mellowed down. After coming to know these initiative, I was bit relaxed. Now, I believe my niece would be safe as I know LPU believes in delivering what it claims that it is doing. 12. University has a big in house hospital too for safety sake in case of any urgency Hope this helps DVD.

Dear Megha, I was also having the same point of safety measures in my mind for one of my niece who took admission in LPU for this year. She opted for residential facility. I was very delighted to know the facilities provided by the university. I will highlight a few : 1. Separate residential Facility for the students with different seater. 2. Rooms are with B.Ed study table, chair, almirahs, desert cooler and geyser. 3. AC rooms are also available in the above category. 4. Differential food facility 5. Laundry facility 6. Gym facility to remain fit 7. Safety and security to be the most prior 8. Over and above the medical facility being provided inside the beautiful campus. 9. Mess and canteen facility in every hostel is there. 10.24*7 electricity supply and Wi-Fi. 11. There are general facilities such as :dedicated hotline and power backup for 24 hrs power supply at university campus. 12.60+ATMs of 5 nationalized banks and Post Office facilities for money transfer, speed post, etc. 13. Study room, TV room, Saloon, Photocopy Machines, Departmental store for daily needs, Cafeteria, vending Machine (soft drinks), Lifts and Parking facility. 14. University-Mall, an eight- storied complex, houses departmental stores, various shops, banks, food-courts. These help students to meet their daily needs on the campus itself. I inquired from the admission officers who told that LPU has followed all the directions especially of social distancing given by Central/State Government as of now and will also follow the same. LPU has taken some of the major initiatives for the well-being of students, staff and faculty: 1. Wearing of mask by all 2. Daily sanitation 3. Strict rules of movement 4. All the hostel rooms and buildings are sanitized and unnecessary movement of anyone is prohibited 5. No big gathering 6. Thermal scanners Over an above nearly 4000+ cameras are installed in University for the safety and security of the student. Now, I believe if the institution is taking so much effort then probably there is no need to worry. I also overheard alot for LPU that LPU believes in delivering what it promises to deliver.

Hi Megha, Aahh If it is LPU where you want to opt the Residential then just spit all your worries but in dustbin only (stay safe, stay healthy) lols. Jokes apart, you really do not need to be worry if you are going to opt the Hostels in LPU campus. 1) It has setup of $ 1million fund for research and innovation to fight against Covid-19 Pandemic, this lead to plethora of innovations and developments at campus. 2) More than 5 of LPU's initiatives have featured in top 20 measures all across India. 3) The campus is being sanitized daily whether there is student strength or not. 4) Movement without masks has been restricted in the campus. 5) While entering the University, everyone is being medically examined with thermal scanners. 6) Social distancing norms are applied in the campus, it was very easy to implement Social distancing as its campus is huge and there is space capacity to do so. 7) In house hospital: A giant 100 B.Ed hospital is already there in case of any urgency. 8) Regular advisories are floated on the University APP, which is mandatory for all the staff and students to have. 9) The good quality food of mess is being delivered into the hostel rooms so that there is no bog gathering. There is routine quality check on food. 10) As off now, all the classes and tests are being curated online, LPU will obviously follow the guidelines by government when the campus re opens for next academic year. 11) The strict rules and regulations are in place for movement of people within the campus so as to minimize the rush. CCTV cameras are already in campus for enhanced safety and surveillance for ensuring the adherence to rules. 12) Motivation speaks and Webinar are becoming support system to many of the faculty members to further motivate the students and prospective students. HiLPU is fully aware of the present constraints of the health scenario and has taken good initiatives to protect the students. The protection of students and educational facilities is particularly important in this grim situation. LPU is making sure the workplaces and the residential areas are clean and hygienic with disinfectants regularly because contamination on surfaces touched by staff and students is one of the main ways that COVID-19 spreads. LPU has already put sanitizing hand rub dispensers in prominent places and makes sure these dispensers are regularly refilled. This is combined with other communication measures such as offering guidance from occupational health and safety officers, briefings at meetings, and information on intranet sites to promote hand-washing LPU ensures that face masks or paper tissues are available for those who develop a runny nose or cough at work, along with closed bins for hygienically disposing masks an tissues.
