Career in environmental science and job opportunity

Hi Soumya, Career opportunities in this field are immense today if you consider jobs in western world. In India too waste treatment industries, refineries, distilleries, mines, fertilizer plants, food processing industries and textile mills employ environmental scientists. The growing concern over environmental protection has also made the industry more conscious or ensuring that industrial waste and other industrial materials are not hazardous to the environment, hence creating more jobs. Job opportunities exist within a wide range of areas including local and national government, advisory and consultancy roles to the private or public sector or specific industries such as agriculture or insurance, working in universities, working for major corporations including most of the power and oil companies, overseas work for a wide variety of NGO’s etc. And of course there are opportunities in education field too as a tutor.
