Career in film making

Hi, I am from commerce background but now I want to grow my career in the film making industry and also the media industry is blooming.. Is it appropriate if i switch from commerce to film making.. If yes please help with some good institutes offering MBA in media & entertainment any where in India.

    Before setting off for a career in film making please evaluate yourself if you have that creative ability (natural flair) in you and sufficient strength to sustain loss and if you are mentally prepared to accept rejection the masses. If you have these capabilities then perhaps you can take the step forward and get yourself trained either in a film making institute (such as in Pune Film Institute , many private institutes in Mumbai, in City Pulse Gandhinagar etc) or try to get work under a film maker in Mumbai or in Kolkata or Hyderabad.     Yes, you can and you definitely should do something that you find interesting. GEMS B School offers MBA in media and entertainment and covers TV Industry, Film Industry, Music Industry, Radio Industry (FM), live events management in the Course. The course is is UGC-recognised and offered in association with Annamalai University.

    Hi Arun,
    Film making is a very creative domain and needs a lot of patience, creativity and funds. In order to become a good film maker you have to understand the viewer choice as in which sort of movies are like by the them.
    In order to become a good film maker, you need to have good knowledge about direction, camera angles, editing etc. To gain such knowledge, I would advice you to join a good film making institute. Or another good option can be to assist a good film director.

    Supporting to what Mr. Nikhlesh Mathur has rightly said! I would also say that before entering the Media world you need to prepare yourself for the pros n cons. Media line itself is so challenging and film making will be more of skill based. To start your career in film direction it is necessary for you to gain knowledge about the basic aspects of film making such as Direction, Cinematography,Camera angles, market demand as in what type of films or T.V. shows are in, etc. So i would suggest you join some course related to Film making and direction so that you gain the relevant knowledge.
