Job Profile
- Conduct routine eye exams, retinal screening and diagnose systemic eye diseases caused by medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, malignancy, etc.
- Treat all medical and surgical conditions of the eye
- Diagnose and treat infections, cataract, ocular inflammation, etc.
- Treat injuries in and around the eyes
- Use a range of medical equipment such as lasers, ophthalmoscopes, microscope, retinoscopy etc. to diagnose and treat ophthalmic problems
- Perform procedures such as laser therapy, intraocular, periocular and Botox injections
- Prescribe eye glasses, contact lens and medications to treat eye ailments

*NEET-UG is an entrance exam for selecting students for
MBBS and BDS courses. This is a National-level common entrance test
conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Applications : www.aipmt.nic.in.
Eligibility: 12th examination, minimum of 50% (General
category) and 40% (Reserved category) in aggregate of Physics,
Chemistry Biology /Biotechnology from a recognized board.
Exam Pattern: NEET-UG is an objective type paper-pencil test. From a total of 180 questions there are 45 questions each from physics, chemistry, botany and zoology . Syllabus can be seen on http://www.mciindia.org/NEET/NEETUG.aspx The exam is a three hour long paper will negative marking , a deduction of 1/4 mark for every wrong answer.
The test is in English and for states in their regional languages e.g. Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Gujarat and West Bengal, have the paper in their respective regional languages.
**Postgraduate Medical Course in broad specialities is of three years duration in the case of degree course and two years in the case of Diploma courses after MBBS and in the case of super specialities the duration is three years after MD/MS. There is a single eligibility cum entrance examination :-National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses conducted by the Medical Council of India.
*** The National Board of Examinations is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It conducts Postgraduate and Post Doctoral examinations medicine and allied sciences and awards Diplomate of National Board in the concerned discipline. Candidates areselected through CET test of NBE.
