How do I get there?
*Brokers and all stock market traders have to be certified. The
certifying authority is the National Stock exchange which conducts
online tests called NSE Certification in Financial Markets(NCFM).
Preparation can be made with assistance from accredited test
centers. The NCFM test is an online certification that evaluates
the financial understanding of an individual. There are accredited
institutes which serve as test centers and also provide classroom
coaching for the NCFM certification test.
National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), Mumbai,
established by SEBI has developed and implemented certification
examinations for professionals employed in various segments of the
Indian securities markets https://certifications.nism.ac.in
**Mutual Fund brokers and agents also need to be certified by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI). AMFI has designed the AMFIMF Testing program. The test has been made mandatory by SEBI for all agent distributors. It is an automated multiple-choice online test no prior knowledge of computers is required. The AMFI MF Test is also offered as a separate module of the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) Certification in Financial Markets (NCFM) along with other subjects such as derivative trading and capital markets
***Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) also gives certification on
Derivatives Exchange (BCDE).BCDE is awarded to only those
candidates who obtain a minimum of 60% marks. There is no minimum
eligibility criterion for taking the test. BSE Institute Ltd (BIL),
a subsidiary of BSE Ltd, provides specialized educational programs,
training and certification in Capital Markets.
****Post graduate programmes in capital markets is available with
some universities and private institutes. For membership of the
stock exchange traineeship for a minimum of six months with broking
firms is required
Note :Other relevant qualifications are :
CFA-This certification covers a broad range of topics related to
financial markets like Stock, bonds, derivatives, interest rate
etc.
FRM-Financial Risk Management(FRM) is a training in risk management
in investment banks, asset management etc.
