Course wise difference is already known to all.
Basically, a chartered accountant is someone who has expertise in Taxation, accounts and auditing. On the other hand, a company secretary is one having expertise in all the laws, rules and regulations.
    Numbers/taxes or law/company affairs
Both have different work fields and opportunities. A time was there when CA was more remunerative then CS. But the change in time and induction of new laws have widened the scope of CS too and therefore more or less they both stand at equal levels in case of employment.
However in practice, we need to remember that anybody and everybody can approach a char

Hi, it depends on various factors
If you are both CA and CS, your prospects of getting better salary and employment is higher.
If you are a number guy, really love to work with the financial aspects, then CA is a career for you
If you are interested to manage company affairs, Companies Act, Listing, Compliance, then a CS is a better career. Then you should have CS + LLB as these combination is preferred

No Doubt both are good and growing sector.both have its own plus & minus point.but the matter is what 1 want to do.because CA is all about clerical job & CS is all about concerned with each & every department of the company.in it you have to meet with many people and understand what will better for the company in terms of law, promotion, employees etc on the other side a CA work for companies financial condition & see it's taxation sector.from my point of view CS is much better.

The decision whether to take CA or CS depends mainly on the individual interests. A person should always think whether he/she would be able to deliver his best in a particular course. Hence the basic motive while selecting a course should always rely on a point whether the best potential can be delivered.

Chartered Accountants enjoy a statutory monopoly in audit of financial statements under the Companies Act, 1956, Income Tax Act, 1961 and various other statutes in India. Financial statements audited by a chartered accountant are presumed to have been prepared according to GAAP in India (otherwise the audit report should be qualified). Whereas, the major contribution of Company Secretary (CS) is in corporate sector. CS is designated as an officer under the Companies Act and is an important professional aiding the efficient management of the corporate sector. CS has to interact, coordinate, integrate and cooperate with various other fun

Both the courses have similarities with regard to the course syllabus. The only difference being the depth of the subjects studied and the examination orientation.Chartered accountancy course has in depth study relating to financialaccounting, auditing, tax aspects. Company secretaryship has in depth study relating to company law.

CS is good as a complementary course. In other words say you already are a CA or Cost Accountant or an MBA (Finance),to get a better understanding of corporate law you can do CS.
By itself CS does not have much benefit.
