Completed MBA from Pune University. What shall I choose now, between business and professorship?
I have not cleared the entrance exam which is pre-requisite for an assistant professor. I am finding it difficult to crack the exam. I have already started small scale business advertising.

It's good to go for a business because if you want to go for teaching in good universities as a assistant professor minimum qualification is PhD. If enough capital is there start business.

Hi,
This decision completely relies on your outlook. If you are okay with academics then you should go ahead for professor post. Business will provide you everyday new challenges and will test your acumen on real time basis daily.
Choice is yours!
Good Luck!

Thanks.
But for professorship, NET / SET are to be cracked which is difficult to crack as well as one need some fix income at this stage. Hence, one can not rely fully on business. That is why, there is a confusion.

Only MBA is not just enough to get teaching job. If you found difficult to crack NET but if you want to become an assistant professor, take admissions in Ph.D. from any reputed university by clearing its entrance exam.

Hi Ashish,
According to me you have to first start with working in any company because for business you need some solid ideas. Those ideas comes after gaining the knowledge of market, if you already got good ideas and plans for business with enough investment than you should go for it.
Thank you.
