Currently the USA will giving the visa for 2 years instead of 5 years. I'm interested to go there. Is it true?
I'm currently studying final year B.tech in ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA. I'm interested to study MS in US. I written GRE and I got 290. I have a threat that " I HEARD RECENTLY THE VISA WILL GIVING 2 YEARS FOR STUDENTS INSTEAD OF 5 YEARS." please , tell me how many years the visa will be issued currently?
Hi Kiran, firstly understand that you will be issued a student visa that is the F-1 visa only after you have been offered admission from a university. Secondly visa validity depends on the course duration mentioned on your I-20 and a lot on the visa officer. For MS courses which lasts for one year to two years, the visa issued is generally for two years. However there have been rare cases where students doing even shorter courses have been granted 3 years and /or five years student visa stay.
