you can refer this link http://www.w3schools.in/mysql/ddl-dml-dcl/ ddl hv commands like create, alter, drop which actually deals with schemas or database structure dml have commands which deals wid data and hv commands like select, insert or update dcl hv commands for permissons like grant etc
