    Quantity surveying is a generalized word.
    In the case of civil engineering, quantity can be of anything which needs to be included in our project of civil engineering.
    For eg., determining the quantity of earthwork or RCC etc. So, process of estimating quantities of each and every thing i.e. it's value cost risk is known as quantity surveying.
