Its a shear skill development segement, where your portfolio and work is more important then qualification. Hi, The fields of animation is not meant for everyone but only for the creative and innovative people. You should be a skilled artist with good drawing abilities but if you are going for computer animation then also creativity is supreme with repository of computer skills. Most of us are only familiar with 2D and 3D animation but there are other types animation also namely puppet animation, clay animation, sand animation, vegetable animation etc. Here are few software that you should be well versed with namely Toonz Harlequin, Adobe Flash, CelAction, Anime Studio, Toon Boom Animation, Animaker, 3ds Max (Autodesk), Softimage|XSI (Avid), MAYA (Autodesk). To carve out a career in animation there is however no minimum educational qualification but the person should be reasonably good in basic sketching. But if you are beginning from scratch and want to get enrolled in some degree or diploma program then you are required to be atleast class 12th pass. People with artistic bent of mid and those who are passionate, dedicated and possess good imagination power which means that they can visualize the end product what it will look like are considered to do well in this course. Animation is a dazzling career option. After finishing the in-house training with leading animation production studio, one can work as a junior animator with salary ranging between Rs.12000 to Rs.18000. Hi Nitin, animation industry is one of the fastest emerging fields in India in the current scenario. Training is the most essential and important aspect for the creation of a skilled professional in the field of animation. After taking a formal training one can easily become an able animator. Good drawing and sketching skills will prove to be an added advantage in this field. He/she should be technically skilled and competent and able to work alone on a project for long hours with risk-taking ability and patience. To be a part of the stream, one doesn't require any specific academic qualification. For getting a better job prospect, one should have a degree or diploma in animation. First check if you're suited for Animation. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this. Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose.
