Hi
ENT doctors are doctors of medicine, whereas audiologists are not. Some progress through further study to specialize in ears specifically and are responsible for ear surgery. An audiologist may have a clinical doctorate degree, Au. D. , or a Ph.D. and can use the title of Doctor. They are not, however, physicians in that they do not have a medical degree nor can they practice medicine. -
No, audiologists cannot become doctor-equivalent to MBBS or BDS doctors. They may pursue a doctorate degree as a Ph.D. and put the prefix "Dr. " in their name, but they are not equal to physicians. The Ph.D. is a doctorate programme, but it is not equivalent to a five-year medical degree. The primary duties of an audiologist are to diagnose and evaluate hearing disorders and assist patients by offering rehabilitation services. Popular courses to become an audiologist include the B.Sc. In Hearing, Language, and Speech, the BASLP and the MASLP.
