Do companies have work ex as a short list criteria for interviews ?If yes, should I worry if I am a fresher?

Some of the companies prefer work ex candidates. Though, that's not a short listing criteria, it adds to ones profile. Don't worry if you are a fresher, because at the end of the day what matters is your knowledge and how you deliver it.
