If you are referring with respect to industry interactions and placements, companies do visit the IIM, Shillong campus. Yes, there are benefits to be associated with a well-known brand.

Location is not a big constraint, especially in the digital era. The companies look to hire exceptional talents and location is not that big a barrier. Yes, IIM tag definitely matters it is a brand for life. Just compare the growth of IIM as compared to other older institutes.
