Yes, meeting the English language requirements is one of the major Newcastle University eligibility criteria for international students. It accepts major English exam scores as proof of English language proficiency. Students can refer to the table below for minimum score requirements:

    PG Minimum Score Requirements

    IELTS Academic

Overall score of 6.5 or higher

(With no less than 5.5 in each band)

Overall score of 6.5 or higher

(With no less than 6.0 in each band)

    TOEFL iBT

Overall score of 90 or higher

(With no less than: 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening, 20 in Speaking and 17 in Writing)

Overall score of 90 or higher

    PTE Academic

    -

Overall score of 70 or higher

(With no less than 65 in each sub-skill)

For admissions to undergraduate courses, Indian students can submit their academic English exam scores as the a proof of proficiency in the language. A score of 75% in English in the Indian 12th Standard Examination makes the candidate eligible for admissions. Note that additional interviewing conditions may also apply.
