Dear Avi, Yes, many universities conduct interviews for admission to an MBA programme such as IITs, NITs, Iims, LPU, etc. I did MBA from LPU and appeared for the interview as well. Let me share what parameters were there for an interview. Communication Skills

The eligibility criteria for Universities are different. So interviews are mandatory or not varies from Institutes to Institutes. If you are not choosing LPU for MBA, make sure you are into Iims or the deemed government business schools of India. Moreover, I would suggest you go through NIRF rankings 2020 for B-Schools and plan accordingly. LPU has been ranked 50th. Also, spending more money on colleges has nothing to do with the quality of education. It has to do with the quality of their infrastructure (for private colleges).
