Do I need to score 75% in PCM group or an overall score of 75% (HSC) is needed to get admission in an engineering college?

Yes, some colleges need 75% marks in class 12th but that is depend upon colleges some just like IIT demand 75% overall marks but BITS Pilani demands 75% marks in PCM only so please check eligibility criteria carefully.
