Yes, you need to secure the minimum qualifying marks in every subject in order to qualify for the CDS exam. The qualifying marks are determined by the UPSC which conducts the CDS exam. For the written exam, the qualifying marks are different for each subject and are announced by the UPSC along with the cut-off for the CDS exam.
