Do I need to study German language to do Masters in mechanical engineering in Germany?

Yes, you are reasonably right. Majority of the institutions in Germany expect you to be fluent in German language and hence the language of teaching invariably is German. So, if you are thinking of doing MS in Germany you better start learning German language right now. Of course these days, there are few colleges in Germany which teach in English also but they are few and not very recommendable. The best course of action for you which I suggest is doable and better for you will be to start learning German immediately and as you progress in the language you will gain confidence and will be able to do your studies in Germa...more
