Do I need to study physics in B.Tech in IT?

Physics is compulsory course of all Engineering branch graduates in first year of Engineering. B.Tech IT grads also undergo compulsory courses on Physics.

Physics is generally taught in first year of BTech IT.

Yes, as far as I know, there is no need for chemistry but you might need physics. There are some subjects and sub-fields in computer science where the knowledge of physics is required. For example: to become a game and graphics developer, you need to know physics and ways to implement them in games.
