Yes, MA students to get placed from colleges if you join an enterprising college. Like I know of LPU which sends its students of MA English as freelancers and allows them to start writing papers in a reputed journals. It helps them to work as freelancers. LPU has its own editorial board.
It gives large concessions to its students of masters to pursue PhD, so that they can make a successful career in the academics.
