Do we get a star mark when we write supplementary if we fail intermediate in the first year?

    In general, if you fail a subject and take a supplementary exam for it, the board will highlight that subject with an asterisk. Below your marks, they will mention that you have qualified for a particular subject in a supplementary exam. Similarly, they may use a hash or another symbol to highlight subjects in which you failed or were absent. Distinction is usually given for having a brilliant score in a particular academic year, and failing in a previous class doesn't affect results in intermediate or any other class.
