No, there is no need for a Masters degree to work in a library. Withholding a Masters degree you may earn more salary as compared to Diploma holders or you may work as a senior manager. There are many certificates, Diplomas, and Bachelor's courses available to become a librarian. Some of them are listed below;
Diploma Courses:
1- Diploma in Library and Information Science.
2- Post-Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking. Eligibility for Diploma and Certificate course: Students must have passed 10+2 level education. Certificate Courses:
1- Certificate in Library Science
2- Certificate in Library and Information Science

Master's degree in library Science MS preferably from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited programme, is necessary for most librarian positions in most public, academic, and special libraries. School librarians may not need an MS but must meet state teaching requirements.
