Yes, it can sometimes matter a lot. Assume a case in which you have prepared for NEET for One year and got a medical college then you become a good doctor. Doctors have a salary for living life happily. In another case, you don't drop out and got a very low-paid job. So, sometimes dropping can have good consequences.

A Gap which was unavoidable and which was for a reason does not kill your job or growth. Be Positive for each thing that is a part of your profile and life. The gap from regular education if taken for some other study or work must have enhanced your knowledge and of it was because of some medical or personal reason, do share the truth. Do not feel low and be true. Add to your skills and learning keeping in mind the gap. Besides, an affidavit or anything for a gap year will be demanded by the place you are applying. generally, employers do not ask, educational institutions ask such for admissions.

Hi, it does not matter. Please make a gap affidavit from notary mentioning the reason for gap. Always carry along your CV when applying for job.
