Not really. The civil service examinations are open to all, and if you're in the General category, you will be treated like everyone else around you, aspiring to get that post. The syllabus does not have much to do with engineering. Rather, it focuses on your analytical skills along with your reason

Hi,
B.Tech has nothing to do with civil services and there is a separate examination to become civil servant. However, for some experienced position they prefer engineering graduate or post graduate.

The chance of being a civil servant has no relation with your B.Tech degree.
Though you can ask about the level of knowledge which you would get from a B.Tech degree.
