Does art is compulsory in animation and 3d courses?

I am attending 10th class this year.I have read some questions about diploma after 10th class,i am having intrest in animation and 3d visualising,but unfortunately I am not good in art.So does art is the main thing in animation courses.or if not what should I do after 10th to go with animation.

    Kashif, take any creative subjects or arts or languages. I would recommend that as you study for your 10+2, you start practicing sketching to begin with. Try to observe things closely and sketch them. You can also buy good sketch books from the market for sketching including shading, shadows, and human figures. However, soon you may have to upgrade to more serious books like "The Animator's Survival Kit" by Richards William.
