Assam University follows seat reservations for BA courses becuase the university is a public university, so it follows reservations as per the rules sanctioned by the government of India. The reservations are available for different categories, such as caste, economic status, housing, disability, etc. 15% of seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC).

The sum of the seats for the BTech branch at Assam University is 204. Students are admitted through the seat allotment based on this seat intake. The university might implement the seat reservation policy.
