    Chandigarh University does not ask for a portfolio during admission to its industrial design program. The selection is based primarily on acdemic scores and performance in CUCET. This makes the programme accessible to students who may not have had formal training in design  but have a passion for creativity. While a portfolio isn't compulsory for joining, students are encouraged to start building one once they are admitted.     No, Chandigarh University does not make a portfolio mandatory for admission into industrial design. Unlike institutes like NID, and NIFT that heavily rely on portfolios, CU focuses more on academic elegibility and CUCET performance. This policy makes it easier for students from nonartistic backgrounds to apply. While a portfolio isn't required students who already have creative work- like sketches, models, or digital art can certainly showcase them once they join the course, as it helps them stand out in class activities.
