Does class 12th marks matter for B.Tech Lateral Entry and M.Tech admissions?

I failed in 12th but passed in 2nd attempt with 38% PCM and 68% aggregate. I had 90% in 10th. Currently I am doing a 3 year Diploma in Computer Science. Can I do B.Tech Lateral Entry after Diploma and then M.Tech? Is it possible or should I do class 12th from NIOS?

If you're opting for B.Tech after completion of polytechnic then your 12th marks won't matter, but yes your polytechnic CGPA matters a lot. But, it is also important to get at least 50% in 12th for scholarship purposes.
