Does dropping 2nd time for nit is a good option ? what are the pros and cons .

I dropped once . for jee advnc . i cleared jee mains(160 marks) but due to sudden illness i couldnt make it to the test center even . i want to be a scientist so i dont care about placements . i have plans about stdying abroad by cracking gre and toefl . and i am 18 years old .
