HBTI-Kanpur is no longer a part of UPTU since 2017. Now, it has become a university. If you want to get admission in HBTU, you need to clear JEE Mains with a descent rank to get admission in descent branch.

As the college has now been converted into a fully residential university named HARCOURT BUTLER TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, its selection procedure will surely change from the year to come. As the sources say, it shall be taking admissions in its B.Tech programme through the JEE Mains. So wish u all the best
As per the latest notification issued by the university for the admissions to the Bachelors programmes of the university, the college would be inviting separate applications followed by fee submission, choice filling and allotment. For any further updates visit the official website of the university or simply visit the following link www.

The allotment for the academic session 2017-2018 will be solely done by JOSAA based on the ranks(or simply the marks as there won't be any normalization) obtained by the candidates in JEE Mains.
Earlier HBTI was selecting students for their B.Tech programs using UPTU marks. But now, there is going to be a change in it probably. So wait for the time when they will declare officially. They haven't done any changes on its official website yet but there is news proclaiming that they will select students on the basis of Mains. Don't worry, you prepare yourself.
