    Yes, home science has 5 major branches including food and nutrition, human development, home management, textile and apparel science and extension education.
    Depending on the subject you choose, there is a wide scope in home science. One can make his/her career as a nutritionist, dietician, in the catering business, a child psychologist, creche or daycare owner, an interior designer, architect, event manager, entrepreneur, as a fashion designer, as a social worker and many more.
    If not interested in working under someone else, one can start his/her own business in any of these fields.

    For B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, There are ample opportunities in this field both in the Government and in the Private sector. Getting a good job depends on various factors like from where you have done your Graduation, your skills, your knowledge about the field, the Industrial experience, and exposure if you have any. A graduate/ post-graduate in this field can get appointed as an Agricultural Research Scientist, Agriculture Officer, Production Manager, Farm Manager, etc. Interested students can also opt for jobs in the field of teaching, banking, and insurance.     This is a branch of science, which primarily deals with home. However, the scope of this subject is quite vast and varied and surpasses beyond the area of cooking, home decoration. The subject even includes hygiene, community living, rural development, art, food, textiles, clothing and many more. In simpler words, this refers to the art of efficiently organizing the available resources so as to achieve a happier and healthier home.

    Many industries prefer home science graduates after their course. It has opened novel vistas, which lead to career opportunities in all spheres of life. The students after their course can enter jobs in Hospitals, welfare organizations, community development programs, Commercial restaurants etc. After the course, the candidates will be well versed in multi-tasking and this provides numerous opportunities for them.     Yes, home science is good for girls. It offers a tremendous amount of opportunities and provides a treasure of knowledge in various fields.
    Undergraduate Level: Although it can be taken at the +2/PUC/Intermediate level (approved by many State Boards and CBSE), the student only begins to really learn about home science at the undergraduate level. This is because the practical training begins in printing, basic tailoring, interior design, cooking, dyeing, etc. Students can choose to branch out into other fields, like fashion designing, interior decoration, etc. or go on for a Masters in home science.
