Does home state quota is applicable for admission to iits?

    No, home state quota is only applicable for NITs( JEE Mains) not for IITs. Only rank & board score and category quota (if applicable) counts for IITs.

    On the basis of AIR one can get admission in the NIT and IIT's only. There are maximum four round and after that spot round for getting admission. If ur score is good and sufficient u should try to get admission in certain IIT's and NIT's otherwise there are certain colleges and institutes which provide better education and placement services to the students. Some of the best private colleges providing good scholarship and better placements are:_
    1. Babu Banarasi Das, Lucknow
    2. Lovely Professional University
    3.Galgotia, Noida
  • No, admission in IIT only depends upon national level rank.
    But if think it is hard to get into IITs , then move to NITs, MIT Pune, Lovely Professional University etc.
