No, admissions at the International Management Institute in Kolkata are of two types - Self Sponsored and/or company-sponsored. The institute creates a cutoff list for all its programs for the various categories - General, Sc/ST/OBC, etc. Candidates are shortlisted only on the basis of their academic records, CAT/XAT or GMAT score, and work experience. They might call you on the basis of your profile. IMI-K, generally, checks the overall profile as in work experience, percentile and various stuff. For now, I would advise you to prepare for the same. -

The Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after the completion of higher secondary schooling under the 10+2 system or equivalent. Hi, IMI gives a cut-off for all its programs for the various categories- General, Sc/ST/OBC etc. Only if you clear the cutoff of the respective category, you're called for the subsequent process that is GD, WAT, and interview. Profile calls are given by certain B-Schools like SPJIMR, Mumbai but eventually, they also consider scores of CAT/GMAT etc to make the final selection of candidates. Hope the answer helps.
