Does lateral entry into BE college is based on my Diploma aggregate or do they conduct any entrance exam?

    Hello Sanket,
    Lateral entry into B.E./B.Tech is based on your Diploma aggregate. There is not separate entrance Test for lateral entry into engineering colleges in Maharashtra. Some colleges may conduct their own entrance test. But maximum colleges follow the procedure set by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra. For admissions into direct 2nd year engineering every year CAP (Common Admission Process) rounds are held by DTE. You have to register on DTE's Official Website. Fill the form; fill all your details, marks, etc. Then a merit list (rankings) is declared. Then fill the CAP round form and Fill the colleges accordin

    Hi Sanket, Candidate must have passed Diploma in Engineering/Technology or B.Sc. with Maths at 10+2 level from a recognized board with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/ ST belonging to Maharashtra state). Admission is based on the marks obtained in Diploma/ B.Sc. Interested candidates can apply online with required information.
