Does Lovely Professional University offer better placement to CSE aspirant than Kurukshetra University?

CSE is one of the branches in LPU having wonderful placements. Most of students get placed in reputed companies with few opting for higher studies. Special inputs in the form of placement classes are given to students to hone their skills and prepare them for placements. Students also go for on-job training (OJT) where they are paid stipend too. The course provides instil knowledge in the major areas of Computer Science and Engineering such as Artificial Intelligence, Networking, Databases, Data Analytics, Web Development and Cloud Computing. The student will be given an option to go for 4 weeks study tour to USA/ European countries or any other country Professional Enhancement- In addition to core curricula, the course offers subjects like communication, analytical and soft skills to enhance personality and employability. University has tie-ups with Upgrade for few B.Tech specializations. It is one of its kind, an undergraduate programme to impart expertise of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence having the right mix of industry and academic experts. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are increasingly augmenting and extending to practically every technology-enabled service, gadget or application. From Google to Microsoft to Apple, Computer Science students of LPU are working with hundreds of leading IT giants of the world. CSE/IT students secured salary package of up to Rs 42 LPA and placement opportunities from companies like Amazon, Adobe, Bosch Engineering, VMware, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Kony India, SAP Labs, Schneider Electric India, HP India, LG Soft India, ITC Infotech, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, KPIT, Morgan Stanley, Drishti Soft Solutions, etc. Last year Tanya Arora from B.Tech CSE got 42 LPA from Microsoft. The package really depends on what he can show to the recruiters that, how much he is worth or deserved. There were some students who cracked the placement and got offered 42 LPA, while many failed to do so. On average, the CSE students of LPU are offered and placed in the starting package of 4.5 TO 6 LPA (Fixed salary) while there may be cases of students getting less than that or more than that. As I said, LPU will provide you the platform and the opportunity, but it is really you who have to go and perform on the platform being provided.

The placements are almost same in both, though LPU has more number of quality companies visiting in LPU. Also, the high crowd at LPU might be the reason for that, but still you get many options to chose from. Also, LPU supports off-campus placements and allow you to join internship trainings (and if you are good at that, they sponsor you). So, from the placements and industrial point of view, LPU is better.

Lovely professional University provides ample opportunities to each and every eligible student to secure good placement with the help of a dedicated Division of Career Services The university has been ranked high by various outer agencies with regard to placements of our students. More than 550 companies visit every year for such activities and campus-recruitment of students from LPU; and this year for batch graduating in 2020, already more than 500 placement/internship drives have been conducted till January 2020 with leading industry giants (more than 90% being MNCs) and generating more than 3000 offers just in the first half of the academic session.

If you really want to get in a college then please for gods sake ask about the teaching quality. You know, you are shown data like 610 placements from Cognizant and other companies, but do you know how many engineering students are there in CSE branch? How many are in ECE branch? If you combine the branches which are eligible for a particular type of company and then see the number 610, you would think of changing your mind. Now I will tell you how the placement percentage may fool you. (This was told by a teacher from LPU itself). There are more than 10000 engineering student. Now you look at that 610. Some may even not get their call letters or they will get after 1 and a half year later. The number of students failing and getting backs is high here. So they are not eligible to sit in placements. Then comes our next group of people, who will go for MBA or further higher studies. They are also not sitting in placements. Those students who get less CGPA. Most of the companies need more than 6.5 or let's say 7 CGPA, scoring more than 7 is tougher in engineering. Now exclude these students.

Both the universities are eminence. LPU is conducting its placement drive for the batch 2022 and this year the highest CTC stood at INR 3 CPA which was 1.5 times higher than the last year. The highest domestic salary stood at INR 62.72 LPA. A total of 8400 Job and Internship offers were made. Cognizant recruited the maximum number of students (1410+ Students) followed by Capgemini which recruited 770+ Students. A students of B.Tech CSE/IT was offered a package of INR 49.4 LPA by Paloalto. A total of 383 students have been placed at the packages of INR 10-64 LPA.

Dear Sarthak, I don't know about placements at Kurukshetra University but being alumni of LPU, I would share placements details of the CSE at LPU with you. Several Big Brands of the industry have visited the LPU campus during the recent academic sessions for campus placements, students training/workshops, faculty development, etc. And the process is still going on at full pace. Around 150+ companies visit every year for the campus placement of students from LPU. And this year already more than 150 placement drives of leading industry giants have been conducted successfully (more than 90% MNCs) for students passing out recently. LPU has worked hard to provide placements even during pandemics. Following are the few major highlights. The question is about CSE, so I will get to the facts and figures straightaway! 1. Over 300 companies visit for recruitment from CSE. 2. Over 60 of them offered above INR 10 lacs and a large number of students got placed. 3. Over 50 are from the fortune 500 clubs. 4. Over 50 are those who recruit from LPU only outside of IITs 5. Over 100 start-ups/business ventures started by CSE students at business incubation and innovation labs, many of them got SEED funding from LPU's angel fund. 6.
