Both Full Time & Part time Ph.D. programs are available in LPU. In Case of Ph.D. Part Time programme, applicants are required to submit NOC (No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of admission. Other than Engineering disciplines, Students who have done their Masters in Distance Mode, are eligible for Ph.D. programme. Eligibility for Ph.D. programme is as follows, - Masters degree in a relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate; 1)LPUNEST + Interview 2)NET + Interview 3)M.Phil (Regular) + Interview Duration of Ph.D. programme will be Minimum 3 Years & Maximum 6 Years (2 Years relaxation is also there for the female students). LPU offers flexible course work in three different options and tentative schedule is mentioned below: Option I Duration - One semester - August to November 2021 - Saturdays 03:00 P. M. - 05:00 P. M. Sundays 09:00 A. M. - 04:00 P. M. Option II Duration - 4 days* every month (*preferably every second week (Thursday-Sunday) September to December 2021- 09:00 A. M. - 06:00 P. M. (daily) Option III Duration - 15 days - November to December 2021 - 09:00 A. M. - 06:00 P. M. (daily) For Full Time Ph.D. students : After presenting a State-Of-the-Art (SOTA) seminar, there is fair chance to the students to pursue teaching assistantship in LPU only. Though the selection is completely depends upon selection committee & requirement. Scholarship Opportunity: There are huge scholarship opportunities for the Ph.D. students 1)Upto 90% for Full Time and 70% for Part Time on the basis of LPU NEST cut off 2)Scholarship of up to 90% of the Programme fee is offered in Ph.D. programmes on the basis of GATE/ GPAT/ SPM/ JRF/ NET (LS)/ affiliations and/ or research outcomes. Now, the part-time Ph.D. courses offered at LPU are for a minimum duration of 3 years, which is a decent time period for you to get through the research. As an institution, LPU is a great university. The faculty is amazing, as I can tell you from personal experience, and the infrastructure (the labs, library, etc. ). Is top-notch and would be perfect for your research and studies. You will have all the resources and the assistance you need to complete your Ph.D. without any major hassles, and the mentors you will have in terms of the faculty are very well experienced in their respective fields. Now to the course itself; you would, of course, be aware that this course emphasizes off-the-shelf research and is all about exploring future challenges as well as about creating new knowledge. So, you would be expected to identify gaps in research, make objectives, create methodologies for the same, and also look for solutions for real-life issues in your field. The university will provide you with the right assistance as well as the study and research material at the business school. The rest is of course up to you to complete your degree and research in a good time frame. As for the thing about the part-time course whether you choose to do your Ph.D. part-time or full-time, it is really up to you. At the end of the day, both degrees hold equal value and reflect the hard work that you have put in, so you can choose the course that suits your prior commitments and responsibilities better. Being studied from LPU I would like to say that LPU has very simple admission process when it comes to Ph.D. For admission to Ph.D. the criteria is 55% aggregates marks in your Masters and you have to qualify interview along with LPU NEST. Also LPU is the only university in India which gives multiple coursework options for Ph.D. (Part time) students like: 1.15-days course work (November/ December 2021) 2.4-days course work every month (September to December, 2021) 3. Classes on weekends (Saturday & Sunday only August to November, 2021) LPU has the most advanced labs dedicated to research work. Many labs are maintained by Cisco, Cadence. LPU also has Central Instrumentation Facility which is one of its kind. It has high end instruments and these instruments and facilities help the faculty members, research scholars and students to carry out globally competitive research in basic, applied and medical sciences. The Lab has many instruments like Powder X-ray diffractometer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Density Meter, Viscometer, Probe Sonicator, Gas Chromatograph and Mass Spectrometer and much more.
